YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
These are our most frequently asked questions about the services LEPAT provides. If you have any additional questions, contact us.
Q. What types of law enforcement agencies can you help?
A. We can help all types of law enforcement: police, sheriffs, troopers, highway patrol, court services, corrections, park wardens, conservation officers, and all federal law enforcement.
Q. What is involved in creating a new, valid, physical ability testing program?
A. Setting up a new physical testing standard, whether for applicants or incumbent officers requires some expertise. To be sure your new standard is valid and will be accepted by the courts if challenged, certain criteria must be met prior during the initial stages of test development. A research component is essential and must contain content, criterion, and construct validity components.
Speed and strength are both critical for passing the POPAT, but so is technique. Practicing with LEPAT helped me get through the push/pull. When I did it for the first time I had a lot of problems with it, but after I was shown how to do it properly the push/pull was something I could become confident in! Knowing what to expect and how to do it will ease your mind and allow you to focus on getting a competitive time!
